Swans Fans Rewarded with Reduced Travel Costs.25/09/2009 - Swans Fans Rewarded with Reduced Travel Costs.
Swansea City fans travelling by public transport to watch the Swans in action at the Liberty Stadium can now take advantage of a new reduced price travel scheme for the rest of the season.

The Swans has teamed up with transport operators First Great Western, Arriva Trains Wales and First Cymru Buses to offer a new seamless travel ticket for fans coming to Swansea by rail.

On arrival at Swansea train station, fans can transfer to First Cymru local bus services using the same ticket at no extra cost.

The free bus travel to the Liberty Stadium will be paid for by the club.

Swansea City chairman, Huw Jenkins, said the new scheme would be a great boost for fans and reward for their fantastic support since the club moved to the Liberty Stadium.

"Not only are we trying to give something back to the fans, but we are also hoping that more people will make the environmental switch from car to public transport in a bid to help ease congestion around the stadium on matchdays." he said.

"The area's three principal transport operators have joined forces with the club to put the deal together and the special tickets will be available from all rail stations across South and West Wales " starting with the visit of Sheffield United on Saturday."

As part of their travel plans, fans can also make use of Swanseas new high quality ftrMetro service " as well as other local bus services - between the rail station and the stadium.

By travelling on just one ticket, travel will also be much easier and simpler.
